Online Booking

Online Booking

Dear Members,

The online booking system for the remaining rallies June to December 2021 will soon be going live – although we will not advertise the precise time else this causes a spike in traffic and the potential for the site to time out.  Therefore please keep checking the site over the next few days as rallies have to be put live one at a time.

This is a final reminder that ONLINE BOOKING is your only way of booking rallies for the remainder of this season, and that Rally Officers will not be accepting or processing paper slips for their rallies or accepting “enquires” about being added to waiting lists.  We have highlighted this several times already – as we feel this is the fairest way and gives everyone the same equal opportunity in booking rallies during these ever changing circumstances & pandemic restrictions.

Please remember that our online booking system was never designed to cope with such unusual high demand caused by everyone trying to book everything at the same time.  Part of the website security (which usually protects against hackers) will automatically prevent too many concurrent users – and a “timeout” or “error 404” message may sometimes be displayed – if this happens, please try logging in again & booking in a few minutes.

We thank you all for your patience and understanding when booking a rally.

More Rally Suspensions

More Rally Suspensions

Dear Members

We held our virtual Committee meeting on the evening of 8th March and discussed the ongoing situation with regard to when rallies may commence again.  As promised, an update is provided as below:

Following the Governments recent road-map out of lockdown (22 Feb) and the Club’s announcement (24 Feb) that UK Club sites would open on 12th April and that “rallies can commence but as a Campsite only and all members must comply with the Government’s guidance regarding social contact, and group size outdoors”, the Committee have considered the published information regarding the various Steps.

As HQ also confirmed it is down to the Centre to “make an informed decision before deciding when to commence rallying, mindful that the dates could change”, and as Step 2 only allows for “Rule of 6 outside”, the Committee decided by majority vote that rallying will commence no earlier than 17th May (Step 3).

Therefore, the following rallies will now be cancelled:

Rally Suspensions:

  • Rally No 12 – East Ashling Nurseries (29th April to 4th May)
  • Rally No 13 – Stedham Mill Farm (30th April to 3rd May)
  • Rally No 15 – Orchard Farm (7th May to 9th May) has been cancelled by the landowner
  • Rally No 16 – Hayling Island (14th May to 16th May)
  • Rally No 23 – Henley Royal Regatta (29th June to 5th July) as Regatta is cancelled, the Rally Officers asked for rally to be cancelled.

These had already been advised as cancelled:

  • Rallies 9 (Easter), 10 (Awbridge) and 11 (Little Metlands) in April are cancelled
  • Rally 14 – Dornafield (5th May to 12th May) has been cancelled by the landowner
  • Rally 17 – National Rally (May) has been cancelled by CAMC
  • Rally 24 – Near The Park (2nd July to 4th July) has been cancelled by the landowner.

We appreciate this will be a huge disappointment to all. It will take a couple of days for Committee to update the website and centrally manage the notification cancellation emails to any member booked on these rallies, so please bear with us.

Looking forward, this means our first rally would potentially be Rally 18 (Chideock) 28th May – 6th June. However, with 51 existing bookings, it is clear that attendance numbers will exceed the Govt restriction of “30 person limit outdoors” and we may need to restrict numbers – so online booking for Chideock will now show as FULL.  We must advise now that the landowner will not permit any marquees/gazebos or any socials and have requested that numbers are limited.

We will therefore keep the Dog House Farm rally under review and a decision will be made at the next committee meeting on 12th April on HOW it could take place safely.   By this time, we should all have a better idea of how the National rollout is progressing, and whether local views have changed.

Step 4 – Rallies after 21 June

Assuming the Govt timeline is followed and all restrictions are lifted, the remainder of our 2021 programme should hopefully be able to go ahead from this date.

Rally 22 (RVCP – Play in the Park) has been extended and will now be a holiday rally from 23-30 June and is therefore open straight away for booking online.

Online booking will be opened for all other remaining rallies until the end of the year, week beginning 23 March.  With an ever changing position, we hope you will appreciate that any bookings will be subject to change at short notice and as previously advised, we ask that no paper bookings are submitted.

Rally Officers
….are still required for Hurn Equestrian Centre (31 Aug – 6 Sep) and Orchard Farm (15-17 Oct).

If you are interested in running either of these, please get in touch asap – as if no one comes forward, then unfortunately, these too will have to be cancelled.

2021 Rally Books
As previous advised, these are available to buy & be posted to you.  Please login to the website and follow the instructions for payment on the “2021 Rally Book Order Form” that can be found under the Rallies or Members Menu.

Stay Safe

Passing Of Pat Colbourne

Passing of Pat Colbourne

We sadly have to advise that the Committee have been informed that Pat Colbourne, wife of the late Ron Colbourne passed away peacefully at QA Hospital Portsmouth, on the 23th February 2021 after a short illness.

Pat and Ron were longstanding West Hampshire Centre Members for very many years and were Rally Officers on many rallies run for the West Hampshire Centre. They are a very sad loss to the West Hampshire Centre. They leave a lasting memory, as their daughter Pauline & husband Tony Cane still rally with the West Hampshire Centre and also their son Martin & Kim who have served on the Committee in the past.

Thanks

Committee

Rally Suspensions

Dear Members

We held our virtual meeting last night (8th February) and discussed the ongoing situation with regard to when rallies may commence again.  As promised, an update is provided as below:

Rally Suspensions

Unfortunately, the position has not changed since our last post (13th Jan) – all Club Sites remain closed – and CAMC HQ advice is still that all Rallies and events would not be permitted and therefore be suspended for the “foreseeable future”.

Some Landowners have already contacted us to advise they will not be opening anytime soon.  We have also spoken to the Rally Officers for March and some April rallies, and the general consensus is that the UK situation is still unsafe – hence requesting their rallies be cancelled.  We have always said that Committee would support such decisions, and with this in mind:

  • All rallies and events in February remain cancelled.
  • All rallies and events in March are cancelled.
  • Rallies 9 (Easter), 10 (Awbridge) and 11 (Little Metlands) in April are cancelled
  • Rally 14 (Dornafield) is also cancelled – at request of Site Owner.
  • Rallies 12 (East Ashling) and 13 (Stedham) at the end of April/May will be reviewed at 8th March meeting.

The situation is changing daily but hopefully this gives you some clarity in the short term.

Rally Officer Forum – date change

With the extended rally suspension, and as the date initially chosen we realise now is “Mothering Sunday”, we are rescheduling the Rally Officer part of ROOF to Sunday 11th April at 2.00 PM.

It will still be in the form of a Virtual Zoom meeting for the 2021 Rally Officers.  Email invitations and electronic information Packs will be sent out in the week before the event.  This will hopefully allow us to take the very latest CAMC HQ Covid19 guidelines into consideration.

Rally Bookings

Having listened to member feedback, whilst CAMC have not yet given us permission to rally, we are taking the positive view that we hope to be able to get away in the summer months, so will be releasing the Holiday Rallies for booking online – Bagwell Farm, Weymouth (28) and Rousdon (37).  Please check out the rallies page in the next couple of days.   We hope this gives you the opportunity to plan your holidays in advance.

However, it has been decided that NO further weekend rallies will be released for online booking until CAMC change their advice.

We must reiterate that when further rallies are released, ONLINE BOOKING will be your ONLY way of booking on any rally between June and December.  NO paper slips will be accepted by the Rally Officers – in line with all our previous communications on this matter.   Any attempt to “jump the queue” on this process by way of postal or direct email booking or enquiry about joining a waiting list will therefore not be accepted and will be destroyed.

We still believe this gives everyone the same equal and fairest opportunity to book onto the remaining Rallies in thistime of unprecedented circumstances.

Remember – it was the members who asked for online booking!

The vaccine roll out program is a real positive – but until all ralliers have had the choice & opportunity to receive one – there may still be Covid19 Restrictions and social distancing measures in place on any WH Rally.

However, the opportunity to get away with friends – even at a distance – is still better than we have now.

Stay Safe.
