FOCUS – September 2017

FOCUS ON WEST HAMPSHIRE CARAVAN AND MOTORHOME CLUB CENTRE

September 2017

  • A member raised the issue that our new fire extinguishers do not comply with HSE regulations. Graham contacted CAMC Head Office over the issue and was told that Rural England have now dropped the requirement for rallies to have fire extinguishers.  However, as a Centre, our committee would like rally officers to continue to take our new extinguishers on rallies to affix to the flag pole.  Our extinguishers do have a British Standard ‘Kite’ mark on them, and our situation is different to those in offices / workplaces that the HSE regulations cover and so there should not be an issue with this.  We would also like to thank Debbie Cleave for making covers for our new extinguishers.  Matt has modified these slightly with Velcro to make them easier to use on the flag pole.  The old, larger extinguishers will be kept in the Centre store for the time being.
  • The Rally Secretary has put together a draft programme for the 2018 season. This will be available for members to view at the AGM.  The committee discussed some possible changes to the programme to avoid rallies running against the Youth Section rallies where possible and Nick will be looking to see whether this is possible.
  • If you wish to advertise your business via the West Hants website and our rally book next year, please see Nick. Pete will need the artwork you wish to include in the advert.
  • We are sorry to announce the death of West Hants member, Joy Houghton, who had been rallying with us with her husband, Dave, for the past 3 – 4 years. As we were not informed until after her funeral had taken place, flags were not asked to be lowered in our usual manner.  However, we wish to express our sincere condolences to Dave and her family.
  • I look forward to seeing you on the rally field soon.

Best wishes,

Sue Davis
