Maureen rallied with her husband Brian for many years and ran rallies at Middle Wallop School and Grately. Maureen’s funeral will be held at 11am. on 1st October at Charlton Park Crematorium, Hatherden Road, Andover, SP11 0TA. Shirley’s funeral will be held at 12pm on the 17th of October at The Valley Crematorium, Ridge Lane, Romsey, SO51 6AB and afterwards at Romsey Golf Club, Romsey Road, Southampton, SO16 0XW. - [Margaret Howson's Funeral Details](https://whampshirecc.co.uk/index.php/2025/06/16/margaret-howsons-funeral-details/): Margaret Howson’s Funeral Details Margaret’s funeral will be held at 10am. on the 24th of June 2025, at The Oaks Crematorium, Havant, PO9 5NA. The funeral service, that you are welcome to attend, will be followed by a private family gathering/wake.
- [MAY HOPKINS FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS](https://whampshirecc.co.uk/index.php/2025/06/16/may-hopkins-funeral-arrangements/): MAY HOPKINS FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS May’s funeral will be held on 2nd July 2025 at The Chesil Suite, Chesil House, Winchester SO23 0HU. Guests are invited to arrive from 2pm for a service at 2.30pm.  Anybody who remembers May is welcome to attend, and the dress code is coloured. Please message Paul Hopkins on 07985 699499 if you will attend for catering purposes. Please also note that there is “No Parking” on site and that you will need to use the “Park and Ride” or the Chesil Street Multi Storey Car Park which is a short distance from Chesil House.

Fri 1st to Sun 3rd March New venue, hard standing, with lovely bike routes and walks, and 3 pubs in the nearest town (I’ve done my research!). If you are thinking of coming please act now or sadly you will be disappointed. The rally can be booked for 2 nights, Friday and Saturday for £69.17 or 3 nights Friday/Saturday/Sunday, for £89.20.  This is a full facility site with inclusive use of the Shorefields swimming pool nearby.

Apparently there was funding of £250 available. The first rally was held at Stoney Cross in the summer of 1965 with about 30 vans attending. The rally officers were expected to dig their own Elsan pit with pick and shovels, and then fill it in afterwards! The early rally plaques were triangular with small holes in each corner.
