THE WESSEX CUP IS STILL GLEAMING<\/span><\/b><\/span> <\/span><\/b><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n 1<\/span><\/b><\/span>st<\/span><\/sup><\/b><\/span> PLACE OVERALL<\/span><\/b><\/span> <\/span><\/b><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n CONGRATULATIONS<\/span><\/b><\/span> must go to all the organisers, participants, spectators, marshals, referees and everyone<\/b> who contributed in any way to our win of THE WESSEX CUP. <\/b>West Hants <\/b>also won the Group Cup, Individual Cup and Team <\/b><\/span><\/span>Cup!<\/span><\/b><\/span> The team camaraderie all weekend was absolutely brilliant. <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/span>The Wessex <\/b>is a bi-annual competition weekend, with Caravan Club Centres from the Wessex Region competing against each other. Whether you are taking part or supporting; great fun is had by all. <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n It\u2019s a rally not to be missed.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> <\/span><\/i><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n Evening one: Adults FANCY DRESS <\/span><\/b><\/span>\u2013 and West Hampshire did us proud. 1<\/b><\/span><\/span>st<\/span><\/sup><\/b><\/span>, 2<\/span><\/b><\/span>nd<\/span><\/sup><\/b><\/span> and 3<\/span><\/b><\/span>rd<\/span><\/sup><\/b><\/span>. Followed by a Barn Dance where fun was had by all. <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/span><\/span>Throughout the weekend there were INDIVIDUAL EVENTS<\/b>: Which included: Driving and Reversing, Children\u2019s Cycling, Cakes, Flowers, Handicrafts, Photography<\/b>. What a magnificent turn out there was from our members and all the other centres. West Hants scored loads of valuable points on our scoreboard from these entries. <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n N<\/span><\/span>ext were the <\/span>TEAM EVENTS<\/b>: Which included:<\/span> 5-a-side football, Netball, Volleyball, Skittles, Boules, Lawn Darts.<\/b> Everyone participated with great gusto, often winning their finals or gaining points on the board throughout the knock out rounds. Everyone\u2019s support for these events was outstanding and there was a positive feeling in the air.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n S<\/span><\/span>aturday night and time for the CENTRES ENTERTAIN<\/b>: A family show where each centre puts on a range of acts for the audience to enjoy. With 3 superb West Hampshire entries \u2013 A \u201cGreatest Showman\u201d solo performance <\/b>by <\/span><\/span>Elysha<\/span><\/span> Tracey which received 1<\/span><\/span>st<\/span><\/sup><\/span> place. <\/b>The small group act \u201cIf I was not upon the stage\u201d, <\/b>which achieved 1<\/b><\/span><\/span>st<\/span><\/sup><\/b><\/span> place<\/span><\/b><\/span> and the larger group entertainment \u201cJukebox Surprise\u201d, <\/b>which also came 1<\/b><\/span><\/span>st.<\/span><\/sup><\/b><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n – WOW <\/span><\/b>\u2013<\/span><\/i><\/span> what a brilliant evening\u2019s entertainment. I cried, laughed and thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening \u2013 great fun was had by all. <\/span><\/span>Again<\/span><\/span> there was more fantastic support by everyone that evening and West Hants managed to create an enthusiastic cast, including talented scenery makers\/artists and scenery shifters. <\/span><\/span>These can be viewed on Facebook apparently<\/span><\/b><\/span>. (I am past my sell buy date to access Facebook!). <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Sunday evening saw the ILLUMINATED WINDOW DISPLAYS<\/b> \u2013 Our <\/span><\/span>ralliers<\/span><\/span> spent hours decorating their van windows, which were illuminated later in the evening. 1st<\/sup>, 2nd<\/sup> <\/b>and 3rd<\/sup> places<\/b> across all categories. Well done all. Brilliant.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n DISCO AND ENTERTAINMENT<\/span><\/b><\/span>: The Sunday evening entertainment was great, with a disco for the youngsters and a comedy magician and singing group for the whole family to enjoy. I don\u2019t think the <\/span><\/span>ralliers<\/span><\/span> wanted to stop partying that night.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Monday finished with the <\/span>CHILDREN\u2019S FANCY DRESS<\/b>: A magnificent display by all the children who had great fun taking part in the fancy dress competition \u2013 a lot of time and effort was put into this event. Well done to you all.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/span><\/span>This is not to forget all the other events the Wessex has to offer… the fun dog show, cross country, tea and cake afternoon, pub quiz, charity book sale, grand draw and church service.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n We may have only had 18 vans attending the Wessex, but the quest for the Wessex Cup was enjoyably pursued with the full participation and enthusiasm of every West Hampshire member, all working together as a team.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span> <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n I quote: \u2018I want to bottle up this elated feeling right now and pop it open when people ask what West Hants teamwork at the Wessex looks like\u2019.
